Take It Down 2025 Tournaments

National Macaroon Day

The format for the 6th tournament changed to race to 15 points for round robin and race to 20 points for the final. The start time also changed to 1:00pm. 3 new players Dean, Max and Lita joined the fun. Thanks for coming out!

Group 1 had a journey with a 4 player round robin. Max beat Mike and Jon both very close matches. Mike destroying yours truly, nice work, and Jon winning over Mike and I. This lead to a shootout with Max and Jon. With Jon scoring the win for the group.

Group 2 was quick with a 3 player round robin. Dean and Lita, newcomers, proved entertaining. with Dean winning that one. In Lita's 2nd match against JP, she pulled waay ahead of JP. Leaving everyone in amazement. After settling in, JP pulled the win on that match. JP defeated Dean to win this group.

In the final, Jon vs JP. It was a long battle to the end. Jon went on sprint leaving a gap of 8 points, with a run of 4. The mandatory 5 minute break was removed for this tournament. With Jon on the hill to close out the match, JP changed strategy and slowly climbed his way to even it up 19-19. After a long 20 inning dry spell Jon put the match to rest 20-19.

Congratulations to Jon! He now moves up a class.

What an amazing match, strategy and  perseverance.

This tournament was enjoyable. As every 3 cushion event is. Dean, Max and Lita did well for their first showing. Its great to see new players joining the fun. And, the seasoned players showing them the ropes. I continue to look forward to the tournaments.

Till next time, -k.
